I love capturing photos of plants, food and non-living things because I always believe, although they are not human, but they do have their own expression and emotion yet to be read and appreciated.

Marble Cheese Tart

A. Pastry

Ingredients:
150g butter
70g icing sugar
1 egg
260g plain flour
1 tbsp milk powder

Method:
1. Mix butter and icing sugar until well-combined.
2. Add in egg and cream until smooth.
3. Add in sieved plain flour & milk powder until well-blended.
4. Keep refrigerated for 30 minutes to let it firm.
5. Remove and roll between 2 plastic sheets to 3mm in thickness, line it onto the tart mould.

B. Cheese Filling

Ingredients:
250g cream cheese
60g sugar
1 egg
50g whipping cream
1 tbsp milk
15g melted chocolate

Method:
1. Prick some holes on the pastry shell and bake at 190 degree Celcius for 15 minutes or until light golden brown. Leave to cool.
2. Mix cream cheese and sugar until light and smooth. Add in egg, cream until well-blended.
3. Add in whipping cream, mix until well-combined.
4. Take out 60g of the cheese mixture and, mix with milk and melted chocolate until well-blended.
5. Deposit the cheese fillings onto the baked pastry shells. Place some chocolate cheese fillings on it and make swirls with it.
6. Bake at 200 degree Celcius for 10 - 12 minutes.

Well, you can see my pastry was too thick... and I think I over-cooked the chocolate and that's why the chocolate tasted a bit bitter. But I had fun swirling the chocolate on the cheese fillings. Although I don't eat cheese but cream cheese for me is still acceptable.

I still remember I baked this tart after my trip to Broga Hill (9th August 2009), and I was baking for my A33 gathering dinner. Erm... Maybe I should try this again... it seems I haven't bake for months.

Scarf to "Rain"

I've promised this friend of mine, who is living in Ireland now, to knit him a scarf as his birthday present, I don't remember when did I make this promise, probably early of last year when he came back for holiday.

I know my friends, who is now working in Singapore (you should know who I'm referring), must be cursing me because I refuse to knit them one. Hey friends, I told you, Singapore is located in Tropical country, you don't need a scarf... OKAY?

"Rain" birthday is in Feb, so, I only started this project after my god sister's one... although this pattern seems more complicated than the previous one, but this is the pattern I wish to learn, see the twist and turn part? It's called cable.

Green is the colour that he requested and I found this green is kind of suit him. Then, the yarn that the shop recommended is skein yarn, means we need to wind the yarn before we can start knitting.

The present has finally reached it's master... and follow him back to Ireland d...

Knitted Scarf for Godsister

I'm happy because one of my godsister has finally decided to do her final year of tertiary studies in UK. As an encouragement for her, I've decided to knit her a scarf as Christmas present...

Yes, you are right... this is another back dated post.

Simple scarf... but the yarn is very good... the scarf turned out to be very soft.

Kitman named this pattern seedo..
Although the pattern is simple and it is just a scarf, I still took about 5 weeks to finish... what a slow knitter... opps... I can't consider myself as knitter yet :)

Thanks Stephanie for being my model

It was a business trip. My operators treated me very good, bring me here and there to eat... and I had tried a lot of food that I never try before, e.g. steam olive, eat with black sauce and sugar, some wild vege which I don't even know what's their name... and fruit called "balak", I hope I spell it right...

1st time taking flocker (Sibu - Miri)
real scary and I'm quite sick after getting down

the "balak" that I'm refering
taste wise, quite good, not as sweet as jackfruit, but nice

this is not the normal durian, it's wild durian... very small in size but very easy to open, and it's seasonal too

the flesh is very very yellowish

Dad's Knitted Vest

Last year I've knitted a top for my mom... and for sure... I need to knit another one for my dad... remember? I'm a libran.

This top is not as difficult as the top that I knitted to my mom... the pattern for this vest is relatively easier... and less mistake I made

Thanks to Kitman and John, the yarns was brought all the way from Texas as a gift to me. I only bought the dark brown yarn from the knitting shop in Sg. Wang.

I like this pattern very much... very simple yet elegant and nice
I took about 4 months to finish this vest
(mom's one I took more than 5 months to finish)

The vest fitted nicely on me... :(
so, it's a little tight for my dad, especially the neckline...
but of course, he still like it la
