I love capturing photos of plants, food and non-living things because I always believe, although they are not human, but they do have their own expression and emotion yet to be read and appreciated.

Southern Stock Audit Business Trip

After Singapore trip, I'm "officially" entering outstation business trips marathon until year end... I'm talking about MARATHON, means non-stop traveling, packing & unpacking and I need to travel to almost every states in peninsula Malaysia, opps, left out a point, alone. But the best part is, you get to eat different stuff. So, the following entries of my business trips, I'll mainly focus on food.

1st station - Southern Malaysia
(Johor Bahru, Skudai, Tampoi, Senai, Kota Tinggi, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Muar, Bahau)

I was quite excited when I know that my high school good friend, Chloe was also going to JB for work. So, we met and I stayed with her in Hyatt Hotel, JB on the 2nd day of my trip. After work, we went dinner together.

I worked until quite late that day, most of the shop were already closed, and of course we are not very familiar with JB roads, all that I know are ways to get to my centres. So, I drove to Taman Pelangi and saw this Japaneses restaurant... there is a row of shop lot with a few Japanese restaurants. We picked the one with most dinners - that symbolises good food quality hahaha... and because we have heard of too many criminal cases in JB, just to be safe la, if you know what I mean.

Udon for Chloe

Toufu for sharing
I was so blur, I didn't notice there's fire heating the toufu until I put down my camera.
(then you know la, this picture was taken later on)

My soba

I'm sorry because I have forgotten the name of this restaurant. The food they served is very authentic. We even saw a lot of Japaneses dinning there. Yum yum

Then came to my 4th day in Johor, my distributor, Jasmin was bringing me to try the best bak kut teh in Johor, according to her.
As instructed, I met her at a petrol station, then she asked me to follow her car... I thought the restaurant was somewhere nearby, but, we drove for more than 20 minutes to reach there. Let's imagine, we are traveling on the road which has no traffic light and although it's not a highway but it's "old road" connecting other state and it took us more than 20 minutes, you can tell, it is really far from town.
In the middle of nowhere, there is where this restaurant located.

The restaurant...
Kitchen, tables and chairs under the atap

Inside, the open-concept kitchen... everything is clean and staffs are wearing uniform and hat.

It's not a weekend nor lunch hour, but still, the restaurant is full of people

We are real greedy, we ordered a bowl of bak kut teh, a bowl of spicy soup and stewed pork leg, side dish we have yao zha guai

The stewed pork leg
(don't think about how much fat it has, our company is selling slimming product, we always have backup)

The famous bak kut teh

Spicy soup with pig stomach
You know what? We finished up everything... yes, we 2 girls finished up everything hehee
Now I know why people travel so far to the bak kut teh... it's really worth for the journey

Beside than food, comfortable hotel is essential... the best room that I had for this trip was Sofitel Hotel, the only presentable hotel in Senai. By looking at the photo, I already feeling sleepy... zzzzzzz

Reminder: if you want to stay in this hotel for cheaper rate, please pre-book online (15 days advance), or you will end up like me, paying extra which made me feel a bit cheated.
Pre-booking rate: RM248
Walk in rate: RM328

more entries coming up... stay tune

Nan Hwa Chong Fish-Head Steamboat Corner

Finally part of my Singapore trip:

I told the guys... I want to eat something different in Singapore which I cannot find in KL... then they suggested this - Fish Head Steamboat

They said usually the restaurant is crowded with ppl, so we decided to go there earlier... Yum yum... I like good food, especially with the right person...

Old vs New
An old back lane near the restaurant; the tall building is where Kaweng office located

The 3 guys...
They have long legs and walk very fast, I need to catch them at the back...

While we were walking to the restaurant... we bumped into BATMAN...
Don't believe me? See the picture!
Batman gonna received a summon because he parked at double line... hahaha
Just kidding, Halloween was near... the costume shop made this using poly foam. Amazing right?

There are 2 different restaurants, selling the same food and they are just opposite to each other near North Bridge. We chose the less crowded one.

The chillies

The roasted pork

The "gold needle mushroom"
According to Kaweng, it has "anti-cancer" property, overcook will destroy the property, hence, the best cook time is 3-5 minutes

The steamboat is full of variety of ingredients
(fish, mushroom, vegetable, pork and salty vegetable)

The steamboat is heated by charcoal

The guys commented that the steamboat in this restaurant is less salty compare to the opposite one
I only tasted once, and the steamboat made me think of my mom, because it taste like home-cook
Food always taste better when you dine with the right person

The opposite restaurant... selling the same thing

This one has more tables

After dinner... K time!
After K, Z time!
After Z, breakfast time!

This was my breakfast the next morning - Singapore bak kut teh!
This portion was shared between me & Kaweng. He ordered a pork leg (with a lot of fat underneath), pig kidney soup and vege...
haha, what a special breakfast!

After fatty breakfast, Slimming time!

Thanks guys, again... thanks for your hospitality.

p/s: end of the day, I spent only 1SGD (bus ticket to JB) for this whole trip... because all the expenses were on them... :p

Singapore Flyer

After the late lunch cum tea at the "House", the guys brought me to Vivo City.

We were thinking to catch a movie there, but it's public holiday, and obviously, movies that we want to watch already sold out. So, we walked around, I accompanied them to buy stuffs in an electronic shop and a hypermarket "Giant", yes, Giant in Singapore too... they showed me Sentosa island and the casino which is work in progress...

Then, we decided to take our dinner earlier, in order to avoid "traffic jam" - jam pack with people in the restaurant. While we were on the way there, we passed by this - Singapore Flyer.

It seems bigger than Eye on Malaysia and the gondolas are bigger as well...

Actually I never ride a ferris wheel (except those mini ferris wheels in fun fairs when I was very young). When Eye on Malaysia was in KL, I always wanted to go for a ride but can't find anyone going with me.

Initially was planning to go to this after dinner, but the guys has a more comtempting suggestion which is karaoke... So, we end up in karaoke room, instead of the gondola...

Some said, when you reach to the peak of the wheel, the wish that you make will come true... hehe (so fairy tale) but, I really hope I can take a ride on a ferris wheel with my love one :)

This is the so called world's largest observation wheel - Singapore Flyer

p/s: Pictures were taken by Choo, while we were sitting in Kaweng's car, I was sitting away from the wheel, so, Choo helped me to take it... using my Sony W1.

House Camp Baracks

I had a wonderful Deepavali holiday in Singapore, reason being my dearest friends, Choo, Soo & Kaweng, who work in Singapore, had done a good job to plan and bring me around the island. I think this is funny and they were so cute, I was touched (although I didn't show or say this in front of them)... this wasn't my first time to Singapore... and I didn't consider myself as a tourist, it's just a visit to my dearest old friends who live there, but yet... they gave me their warmest hospitality. Thanks, friends.

Early in the morning of Deepavali, I drove to JB then I took public transport to Singapore from there. I thought I will be reaching Singapore around late afternoon, but things went smoothly and I reached there around 2pm. I crossed 2 customs check point and they came to pick me up at Woodland. I was starving and they brought me to this fabulous place... Dempsey, the latest hotspot for dinning... well, they know my taste so well... I like cozy restaurant... I'm quite fobia to crowded area.

House, was the one we chose... Kaweng said, this restaurant used to be an army camp... then now they turned it to a restaurant.

Can you tell what is this?
It's their menu!

The restaurant is next to a forest

The cashier counter and coffee counter

The interior

The guys had already had their lunch... So, they have to watch me eat my fish & chips...
(I will definitely go for fish & chips when I saw this appear in the menu, becasue I love potato chips)

This dish was a surprise to me, because I didn't see my favourite chips, they cut the potato in rectangular shape, so, I felt like eating potato, not chips.
They fried the fillet with Indian curry spices (same to the dipping sauce too), so, I thought I was eating an Indian cuisine, not Western.

My birthday had just passed, so, these guys were so sweet (actually they forgot to wish me on my birthday, I am not sure whether they were doing this to seek for my forgiveness... hehe, but frankly, I felt a bit disappointed because they've forgotten my birthday but I wasn't angry), they ordered 3 types of cakes for me, if each of the cake represent each of them... I would say...

Carrot Cake
Represents Choo - Healthy
(healthy always link to not so tasty, not so sweet)
Choo is a friend who doesn't sweet talk (this priviledge only applicable to his gf), and he is a genuine friend, who know how to take care to other ppl. You will feel save to be with him.

Chocolate fudge cake
Represents Soo - Sweet and a little bit bitter
Girls all time favourite. Soo is a selfless, kind and sensitive person. Very sweet in the sense that when you need help, he never fail to offer his hands to you; bitter part is when you need an opinion from him, he is quite indecisive and sometimes a bit blur... hahhaa
(he is going to kill me)

Straberry Short Cake
Represents - Kaweng
(tasted a bit sweet and at the same time a bit sour, a challenge to tastebuds and generally lady will like this)
Just like Kaweng, I believe he is very famous among girls... hahaha, am I right, friend? He is very outspoken, very knowledgeable, and a little bit naughty... don't girls like this?

When we were about to leave, I saw this in ladies. I have no idea what does the whole thing means, but it's a good pass time when you xu-xu... hahahaha

I didn't know the total in bill because this is my birthday present! Right, guys? hhahahaa

2nd and 3rd part my of my Singapore trip will be continue in my following posts... stay tune.
