I love capturing photos of plants, food and non-living things because I always believe, although they are not human, but they do have their own expression and emotion yet to be read and appreciated.

Mom's Knitting Top

Today is Mother's Day! However, this wasn't my initial plan to give it as mother's day present, it was suppose to be my CNY present to my mom.

This is my first time knitting a top, a lace top. And I didn't expected it will be this difficult. I "conquered" 2 scarf, and was thinking, I should not only knit for my friend, I should knit for my family as well. Scarf isn't very practical in KL, so, I wanted to knit a top.

Went to Sg. Wang again, telling them what was in my mind, the lady boss showed me this pattern and immediately, I think this can fit my mom very well. The modal in the book was wearing white, but my mom always very colourful, so I picked this light yellow. The pattern is sleeveless and I told the lady boss, can I attached it with sleeves? And of course it isn't any problem. So, there I started, and I was talking about I started it since last December.

At the beginning, things wasn't going very well, I always made mistakes and has to re-do all over again for a lot of times until I got so frustrated, I told the lady boss, I wanted to give up. She is very kind, she gives me a lot of encouragement, and patiently taught me a lot of techniques to knit this top, one step after another until I finish this "masterpiece". Please allow me to self-praise a little because this is really one of my "mission impossible" and I DID IT!

Using DMC yarns (6 balls altogether)

Half way through

The graceful leafy-like pattern

When I was knitting it, I always afraid it will be too small... I was wrong... my mom actually not that big size...

Length of the body, sleeve, neckline... everything is just nice

Happy Mother's Day!
