I love capturing photos of plants, food and non-living things because I always believe, although they are not human, but they do have their own expression and emotion yet to be read and appreciated.

Mein Mein Ice @ Ice Room

Mein Mein Ice = Snow flake, lately this erm… Taiwan/ Japan snack is very famous in town, maybe it has been very popular in town for long but I just got to know this months back. I’ve no idea how it is made, but the texture is somewhere between ice-cream and ABC, not as smooth and solid like ice-cream nor as harsh as ABC (ice kacang), the flakes come with various flavour and just like ABC or ice-cream, it’s especially tasty during hot weather…

I was having black sesame for the 1st time, my friend ordered the mango (all time favourite)

P1070351

Then the next time, I skipped my lunch and straight jump to this Ice Room for dessert… this is vanilla snow flake with strawberry syrup…

YUAN’s Soap

Have you heard about Yuan’s Soap 阿原肥皂? If no, check out their webpage and you will know the history (if you know Chinese)… but in short, due to skin allergy, Yuan (the originator/ owner) started making natural, chemical free soap. At first, it was just for himself, but due to overwhelm response, demand, he has decided to set up Yuan’s soap workshop in year 2005. Now, he plants his own ingredients - herbs @ Yang Ming Shan National Park, and he insists every soaps that he produce are handmade. That’s the value of the soap.

I bought a few when I was travelled to Taiwan, I bought “Miss Mud” 泥小姐 (made of dead sea mud & other herbs) and “Oat” 燕麦 (good for baby). Some are souvenir to my friend’s baby and specially for my dad, because his varicose vein on his legs and has wound when he scratch his legs after shower. So I thought this soap might help.

The saleslady told me one piece can last very long, so, I didn’t bought a lot, now I regret, I should have do that, because in less than 2 months, one soap is gone. I can’t say the soap isn’t working as what it claimed, but I understand natural products takes time to improve the condition. Well, wait till my next trip to Taiwan, will surely bought a dozen.

Live Positively!

I was talking with my friends, I told them I only wish to live for another 10 years after my retirement (if I really need to work until 55 years old). Then they were surprised and concluded I’m a pessimist. Really? But I thought usually I projected a very positive image to others? Or maybe I’m very selfish person, I don’t want to see people dying, especially those who are very close to me.

But of course, those who commented I’m a pessimist are close friends, so, I think maybe they are right to a certain extend too.

Then there’s a day I went to my friend – Jeff’s office and saw something interesting – a jug with a lot of colourful and attractive pieces, jug label written Live Positively!

P1070367

Contents: 100 pieces of positive messages and quotations to inspire and encourage positive living.

Suggested serving: Ready to serve anytime of day. Best served one at a time. You’ll find yourself more positively energized.

P1070374

I was eager to get one for a very close friend of mine and myself. Jeff’s one was a gift and the sender bought it from Popular Bookstore, later I also find it in MPH (Mid Valley). There are some other title for “Messages in a Jar” too, Live Happily, Romantic notes and … (opps… I forgot). So, I bought myself the “Live Positively” and bought my friend the “Live Happily” (I really wish you to live a happier life).

P1070371

Now, I will draw a message from the jar each day before I go to work, want to know what I’ve got? I’ll share some that I like from time to time.

Feb 15 – The quickest way to receive love is to give love. The fastest way to lose love is to hold it tightly. The best way to keep love is to give it wings.

Feb 25 – I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something I can do. – Edward Everett Hale -

Feb 28 – There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only few will catch your heart… pursue those.

Mar 2 – Be like a postage stamp – stick to one thing until you get there.

Mar 4 – Don’t run through life so fast that you’ve forget not only where you've been but also where you are going. Life is a journey to be savoured each step of the way.

Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie

I got to know this restaurant from one of my favourite bloggers Eugein, clicking in to her blog has been one of the routine every time I log in mine. This is really a “love in first sight” when I had my short lunch there months back. Then I brought my parents there for tea, then brought my friend – Shook Fun, then my ex-colleagues – Woon Ching & Perlyn, then tea again with Kitman and many more in the future I guess.

Frankly speaking, I’m not a big fans of bread (sorry, I always think that bread is for sick ppl), but I love the environment there. Although it is located in the middle of KL, but it is in a more secluded area – along Jalan Delima (Jalan Delima has many other wonderful restaurants too, eg. Nobel House, Fukuya and etc.), hence you wouldn’t feel the busy footsteps or polluted air as what a city should be.

P1070056

If there’s anything I want to complain, it would be the parking space, there’s really very very difficult to find a proper parking  even you are willing to pay for valet. The uniqueness of the restaurant made it very high diner traffic everyday, plus it is near to some office blocks, eg. Technip, RHB… it’s quite rare to see the restaurant is empty, this can be proved by the number of bakers, chefs, waiters and waitresses there.

P1070051

Boulangerie & Patisserie are French words, means bread & pastry, but there are pasta, salad, soup, dessert menu too. The environment is too comfortable, I always forgot to take pictures when I was there. These are all I have in my camera, if it wasn’t waiting for my friend’s pasta, I wouldn’t border to take out my camera too.

P1070052

Look at the pizza, can’t wait to stuff it in my mouth d…

(was thinking in my heart: when is my friend’s pasta going to be served?!!)

If you are curious about what’s my doubt about? I asked, and you know what’s God feedback? It asked me not to ask, work hard on what is right for me.

================================================================================================================
