I love capturing photos of plants, food and non-living things because I always believe, although they are not human, but they do have their own expression and emotion yet to be read and appreciated.

Vincenzo Ristorante Italiano

Seems like I've stopped visiting those "high class/expensive"restaurants, fine dinning la, I mean. Reason? I've been spending too much on my food until my body is "expanding" but my wallet is "slimming down", so, I must control myself.
20th March was a public holiday, a friend of mine asked me out for dinner on the eve. Initially was thinking to try the Vietnamese restaurant, but, Vietnamese food is not my favorite, so, later we decided to go for the Italian.
This is my first time to One Bangsar, although that day was raining, but I feel good and I love that place, buildings were cool and each of the restaurants were very unique, I told myself, I wanted to try them all, but of course, one by one la, I can't eat 10 meals at a time right? I will gain 10kg right away... eww, oh please, no way!!!
So, these are the food that we ate that day...

Mushroom soup
They served in super big bread as bowl, taste nice but after the soup, my stomach is 3/4 full already...

D'anatra (My main course)
Smoked duck breast in tomato sauce, chili, roasted capsicum and red wine
I ordered this just because I saw the "DUCK" on the description. I love duck. Maybe I was putting very high hope on the dish, so, turned out to be ok ok only.
And, the portion was too big for me, but I still finished it la, cause wasting food is a sin ma.

Atlantic Canadian Cod (My friend's main course)
Marinated cod fish with honey hollandaise or white wine vegetable sauce
Aiyo, I should have ordered this, the fish was cooked just nice, although the portion was a little bit small, I mean, who cares, I have to take care of my diet too!

Our dessert - Classic Tiramisu
Mascaporne cream with lady's fingers sponge coated in espresso coffee
I was so full, but I always has the habit of finishing my meal with dessert, so we share this!
Well, for me, sorry to say, this is just another ordinary Tiramisu for me.

Walnut Chocolate Cheese Cake

Ya, you're right, you saw "Cheese" in the title. I mean, friends who know me will notice I don't eat cheese. I've been considering whether to make this or another butter cake, but butter cake will be very common and boring, and I've gone through the recepi, the cheese that she use (the one who wrote this recepi is a lady called Margaret) is cream cheese, not too cheesy and I think the taste can be easily accepted, so, I'm taking the risk...

Walnut Chocolate Cheese Cake

Ingredient A:
250g butter
4 tbsp
cocoa powder

Ingredient B:
250g cream cheese
1/4 tsp salt
100g caster sugar

Ingredient C:
1 egg

Ingredient D:
150g caster sugar
3 eggs

Ingredient E (sifted):
130g self-raising flour
1 tsp baking powder

Ingredient F:
50g chopped walnut

Method:
1. Melt butter in a small pot. Sift in cocoa powder to mix well, set aside for later use.
2. Beat B in food processor and add in C. Then spoon cheese mixture into a piping bag.
3. Beat D and pour in mixture (1), then fold in E.
4. Pour 1/2 portion (3) into a 10 inches x 10 inches baking tin (lined with greased proof paper)
(Instead of using baking tin, I use paper cup). Pipe the cheese mixture, and top with the remaining 1/2 portion. Sprinkle F on top.
5. Bake in preheated oven at 170 degree Celsius for 40-50 minutes.

See, nice or not? The cake turned out very nice! At least I myself like it, look nice, taste nice too! hehe...

p/s: The cake can be stored in fridge and served cold.

One Life Revolution (OLR)

I'm sure everybody heard about World Vision, lately Joanne & I had joined them as volunteer workers for their One Life Revolution (OLR) program.
It's actually a program to raise awareness concerning HIV/AIDS and child trafficking. It's a very meaningful program, they put you in the shoes of the affected child and experience their life by yourself.
I strongly recommend everybody to try it. Admission is FOC, and this is the first time this exhibit was brought to Malaysia.

Venues:
[5 - 8 March] Main foyer, Monash University
[15 - 16 March] Center court, Midvalley Megamall
[10 - 12 April] Kota Bahru Mall, Kelantan
[1 - 2 May] Sarawak Tourism Complex, Kuching

Red ribbon symbolize AIDS awareness

Everyone has a life, you can make a difference!

New flowers in my houses

I love flower, I love plant... although I'm very boyish.
The flower that I like most is white calla lily, tulips also not bad, but very difficult to find in Malaysia, aiya, basically I like flowers la, no matter what it is.
Lately, I have new flowers in my house. See what I've got!

This flower plant is so unique until I couldn't find the name of it.
Anyone of you reading this post know what's its name?

Red Rose
This rose was an imported breed.
The color was so attractive and the flower was bigger than what we normally see in florist.
Of course this is not a plant la, flower withered after 4 days.

Wild lily flower

Huge hibiscus
Wanna see how huge?

Bigger than my mom's hand

Gathering

Did I mention this in my last post? One of the reason that I love Chinese New Year is I can meet up and catch up with my friends during all sort of gatherings. Just like on the 3rd day of CNY, I was meeting up with my high school friends.
See, they are all so pretty and cute right? Love them so much! But ho, I got only 1 photo with them. Aiya, should have taken more.

Left: Qiao Yi, Wei Hock, Chih Mun & Weng Hing
Right: Sau Wan, Chee Hong, me & Liang

Then on the 17th Feb, just few days before CNY end, I met some of my primary schoolmates. Yes, although we had already graduated from school for so many years (16 years), we still keep in touch with each other and sometimes come out yum cha. So, it's also a must to meet up during CNY la. You know, this year I was very very surprise, because there are a few friend we never meet up since graduate, and this year, they turned up! So happy to see them.

Front: Rachel, Wen, Lai pok, Mei Mei, Mei Yoon and me
Back: Jenny, Li Fang, Jun Fei, Oscar, Chern Meng, Chee Hong

We chatted non-stop until we didn't want to go home, so, we have our next round of chatting in Old Town, Ampang Waterfront again. hehhe
Miss you guys...

Actually, there's another gathering with my college friends (Karen, Siow Hui, Shook Fun, Keat, Timin, Kar Foon, Yin Wai and Jojo), but, we were too busy eating, chatting and gambling until nobody take out camera to take photos. :(

So, now, everything has back to normal... I'm so looking forward to another gathering with them...
