I love capturing photos of plants, food and non-living things because I always believe, although they are not human, but they do have their own expression and emotion yet to be read and appreciated.

November Photos

Attended this Live & Loud KL function, Chinese All Stars on 25th November 2007 night.
That's the paper wrist band & entrance card
Thanks Keat, thanks for inviting me to the concert, it was fun, especially when Ah Mei and Zhang Zhen Yue 张震岳 were singing on stage, everybody sing along and dance crazily. Never been this crazy since Lee Hom's last concert in Malaysia. :)

Keat, yes, Keat again, she organized a pot luck party in her house on 4th November, in her house, and Lingtze bought this J.Co donuts for us. Although I'm not a big fans to donut, but they look absolutely delicious. I like the one with peanuts on chocolate layer.

Keat prepared all these ingredients for us to make popiah by ourselves.
There are lettuce, red & white carrot, cucumber, toufu, long bean, Chinese sausage, egg, sweet & chili sauce

See, this is my own-made popiah

This is a photo of Poh Yee & Ryan, held hands and shopped in Sunway Pyramid
Poh Yee, this was Jeff's idea, he asked me to take this photo of you and Ryan like how the paparazzi takes photo of artists while they were unaware of it.
But, frankly speaking, I quite like this photo. hehe

Sunset while I was driving on Federal Highway to Elaine's house for her birthday pot luck party on 9th November.
Yes, I know, I'm a very dangerous driver.

Starfish in Dr. Chan & Dr. Ng clinic's aquarium

Very attractive purple wild flower outside Damai Service (Melawati) Hospital.

My birthday present from Lingtze, Mickey & Minnie solar doll displays.
They are now seating in my car, watch me driving everyday.

Both of them are quite therapeutic, because when I enter my car, I see them smile at me, and automatically, I'll smile back. They actually lighten me up every morning. Thanks Lingtze!

Love shape almond cookies for Siow Hui

I'm not sure since when I love cooking, baking or walking into the kitchen. But, recently, especially this year, my frequency of walking into my mom's territory has become quite a number.
A day before Siow Hui's wedding, she is one of my dearest friend, (we use to call ourselves SAM HUI, because I'm Sam and she's Hui), I saw there's this new love-shape mold in the kitchen. Ting! I thought of making something for Siow Hui. After flipping my mom's recepi books, I have decided to make almond cookies for her, to make it tastier, I actually planned to put white and dark chocolate as deco.
So, here it goes the making...

Mixed all the ingredient together into a soft dough

Roll the dough to about 3mm thick and cut into heart shape using the mould

Cute right?

Bake in a pre-heated oven at 350 degree celcius for 15-20 minutes till lightly brown

Decorate the cookies with white chocolate and chocolate chips

DONE! You wanna eat?

Dinner at Chyna, KL Hilton

After the 1st day function, company has booked a dinner for everybody in Chyna, Chinese restaurant in KL Hilton. It's not a very big restaurant, probably can fit the most 70-80 people, but the ambiance is very very nice, is those Chinese restaurant where the white or western people will like it, or we can called it's a Chinese fine dinning restaurant.
That night, we have a 6-course dinner. I can't say is the best Chinese food that I ever had, but overall, all the dishes are very presentable and taste wise, quite ok.

Yeah! Chinese Kung Fu
It's a welcome herbal tea for all of us

What a unique peanut dish holder

Very attractive and colorful plate
But this is not the plate that you use to eat, it's just a deco on your table

The steam kitchen

The waitress was preparing our Peking Duck dish

中华北京式烤鸭
Beijing roasted duck

珊瑚金银玉带翅
Braised shark’s fin soup with poached & fried scallop in egg white drops

潮式蒸澳洲鲜斑
Steamed fresh Australia grouper, Teow Chew style

蒜子海参鸡蓉煲
Stewed sea cucumber with minced chicken & garlic served in a clay pot

杨枝冰淇淋
Vanilla pod ice-cream with mango puree, freshly peeled pomelo & sago pearls

(actually before the dessert, there's another dish called "乾隆皇海鲜炒饭 Assorted diced seafood fried rice with golden sun-dried scallop & vegetable", but I have no idea what was I doing and I forgot to take the picture.)

There are also pretty girls playing Chinese instruments after dinner

When we were about to leave, there's another surprise for us - Chinese calligraph as souvenir

Lunch at Sudu, KL Hilton

Have you heard of semi-buffet? It means, we can order a main course, then the starters and desserts are in buffet style, you can eat everything over the buffet counters.
On 3rd November, we were actually having a function in KL Hilton. And, working committees need to be there early for the set up, so, company actually buy us lunch there, in this restaurant, named SUDU.
This is my first time eating semi-buffet. There are 3 categories of main courses for us to choose, RM109, RM99 and RM89. Hey, if you were me, which will you go for? Hahaha, greedy cat.
Of course, most people go for the RM109 one, but, I'm sick, I can't eat spicy food, and I don't eat beef, so, end up, I'm taking the RM89 smoked duck breast meat!
After we ordered the main course, we proceeded for our starters. Holly cow! There are varieties of starters for us to eat! All kind of caviars, sashimi, oysters, prawns, scallops, cheeses, salads with variety of sauces, hot or cold starters, just to name a few... We kept on eating and eating, and wondering what take the chef so long to prepare our main courses.
I'm not a big eater, after eating a few starters, I felt full, so, I stopped. After a while, a waiter walked to me, asked me if he can serve my main course. Oh no, he was actually waiting for us to finish our starters then only they can serve our main course. He should come to stop us (the hungry ghosts) earlier.
I'm sorry, I should have taken a few photos of the starters, but... too hungry, forgot to take... next time ya, if I get another chance to go there again.

Here are the main courses.

Grain-fed Australian beef rib eye
Cooked to your liking with spring onion & potato croquettes, chunky ratatouille

Lamb loin

Another lamb dish

Lobster linguine
Can you see the lobster and scallops?!?!

Beef rendang with rice, salted egg and "papadam" (Indian cracker)

Asparagus & smoked duck breast
Chilled asparagus spears tossed in French dressing, black truffle, soft poached egg & thinly sliced smoked duck breast

Basically, after finished my main course, I was 110% full already

Don't forget, it's dessert time now!!!!

Strawberry Fruit Tart! oh, so tempting.

Hey, should I eat this warm chocolate cake? OMG! I'm on diet!

I don't care, eat first, talk later...
Chocolate cup, here I come

Chocolate cake & mango pudding

Tiramisu

Chocolate Moist Cake

A type of pastry, I forgot the name

Lastly, coffee or tea? I ended my lunch with latte
(but that's cappuccino in the photo, because I think the cappuccino looked nicer than my latte)

p/s: I felt so guilty after eating so much, don't forget, I'm on diet. This lunch actually has exceeded my 2 days quota, I think. But that's not end of the story... stay tune for my another post.
