I love capturing photos of plants, food and non-living things because I always believe, although they are not human, but they do have their own expression and emotion yet to be read and appreciated.

Gao Wong Ye

Since young, maybe about 2 or 3 years old, gao wong ye is a place where I go every year. But, sorry to say, I don't really know the story of gao wong ye. I know It is a god, the celebration or the praying is started on lunar calendar, 1st of September till 9th of September, Buddhist can pray on any day, some even stay there, pray for 9 days, and eating only vegetable or on vegetarian food for 9 days.

So, my mom usually go to pray on the 5th or 6th day early in the morning, before 6.30a.m. I don't know how to pray, so, me and my dad will just waiting outside, sometimes he met his friends and will chat with them, me, I walk around and take pictures, of course.

Another activities that I like are playing the "wheel of fortune" and watching Chinese opera. The "wheel of fortune" actually is a small wheel, which you pay, spin and get a dough dough doll, depend on where's the nail stop, then you will see which dough dough doll you get. Last time, we have fish, bird, rose, snake... now, they become more creative, they have some cartoon characters like mickey, some Japanese cartoon characters which I don't know their names, this year, I saw Digi man, this is a new item!

Then, every year, I am a tour guide to my friends too, some of them heard of gao wong ye before, but never been there, so, I will be the best tour guide for them. At night, outside the temple, there are a lot of people selling thing, food and drink... like a night market. Even non-Buddhist can go there, walk around and experience the happening environment! If you are interested and never been there before, come to me, I promise, I will be a really good FOC tour guide for you!

P/s: I was born on the 8th of September (lunar calendar).

Big Surprise!

Hahaha, big surprise is not for you, but for me...

Thanks for all your birthday messages and wishes, thank you, thank you, thank you. I think my birthday for this year is my best and "worst" (actually if you continue reading, it's not actually that bad) birthday ever.

Best part or worst part first? erm, ok, starting with the worst part la. Every year, I didn't know why, I seldom celebrate birthday on the actual date. Most of the time my friend celebrating my birthday in advance. But it's ok for me, cause when I am getting older, I feel more relunctant to celebrate also. And I remember I had a few crying birthday previously, so, every year, I didn't really looking forward to my birthday. This year my bad experience is, for no reason, I got a terrible flu on the night before. Because I don't want to be a sick birthday girl, I took a flu medicine before I go to bed (usually I don't because I think sleep is the best medicine for flu), hopefully that next day I will get well. Manatau, the next day when I got up, I got terrible sore throat on top of my flu. But, I still refuse to see a doctor on my birthday. Then things got worse, I started notice ulcerSSSS on my tougue, oh gosh... can you imagine how painful it is, I don't feel like eating, drinking, and I can't sleep well when I close my mouth and my teeth touch the ulcers. Even till now, the ulcers are still there. What a sick birthday! And, a little disappointment is, some of my good friends didn't send their birthday wishes to me, 1 of the reasons maybe is due to my phone line problem and I didn't received their sms-es or maybe they really have forgotten about it. bohoho... I choose to believe it's because of the former reason.

However, here comes the best part! My best friend, Kitman came back from US earlier to do her wedding preparation (her big day is on 30th Nov), then she chose to come back before 16th Oct is all because of me, yeah! She touched down KL on 13th, we met up on that night. When she came to my house, she said she got something for me, she asked me to close my eyes and open my hands, she warned me that the present is quite heavy and big. Then, she took out the pressie and put it on my hands. It's something made of metal, I can feel with my hands, after that she asked me to open my eyes. OMG!!!! OMG!!!! It's a digital camera... it is not only a camera, but it is my favorite SONY CYBERSHOT W1! My first digital camera in my that my parents bought me but I lost it in 2006! She knows that I still like that camera very much all these years, so she bid it through ebay. She said the previous owner had used it, but from what I see, the camera is absolutely in brand new condition. Thank you, Kitman, thank you so much!

Actually, she had planned this for weeks, she asked another friend of ours to confirmed the model, then she called me from US, checking if I have bought a new camera (cause lately I lost my Kodak V570), and she berpura-pura said she wants to buy camera when she come back and asked me to buy it together with her. Then she bid it online and asked the seller to send it through express mail cause it was very near to her departure date back to KL, there was another fees incured. I'm so touched and feel so overwhelmed with what she has done to me... Kitman, I love you so much!

Yeah, I can take more picture again! So, stay tune for more pictures!

I lost it again!

OMG... I must admit, I am a super careless lady, but it doesn't mean that I don't care. It took me about a week to accept the fact that I've lost my camera AGAIN!!!! Yes, AGAIN!!! 1st time was my Sony Cybershot W1, I lost it in August 2006. That time I was terribly sad, because I love the camera so much and somebody actually stole it away from me. This time is different, I felt sad also, deeply hurt as well, but, I still carry hope that the camera can be found.

My second digital camera is Kodak V570, dual lens which has ultra wide angle lens. It's my last year birthday present from parents. Last month, 14th September, I went to Bukit Jalil outdoor stadium for Jacky Cheung's 07 World Tour concert and of course, I bring along my little kodak. The concert was superb, his voice and his performance is the best, everybody was so excited and high, and during encore, everybody has already stood up and sing along with him. The night before I didn't charge my camera and the battery actually died off before encore. So, I put my camera back to its cover and put it into my handbag. I think, maybe I was rushing, so the camera actually didn't go into my bag, it was just sitting on my lap, when I stand up to sing along, it felt on floor and I didn't notice. That's how my little kodak gone. When I got home to upload the photos, I found it nowhere, then only I realized I left it behind. Because it already midnight, so, I decided to go back to the lost and found department of the stadium the next day morning (I attended the Famine 30 camp which was held at the Bukit Jalil indoor stadium on the following 2 days). Hoping that any civilized people who saw it and will bring it to lost and found department and wait for the owner to claim it back, but as expected, I got negative answer and received nothing. I kept that hope for about 1 week before I finally admit, I lost it.

The camera was with me for almost 1 year (I bought it in September 2006), it took great photos. Thank you my dear Kodak V570, thanks for your companion and allow me to take good photos. This post is a tribute to you. Goodbye and hope that the person who took you will take good care of you.

Real?!

I need to rush up 2 more posts before sharing a sad and a happy stories.

I always said I'm a typical libran, but but but, one of the characteristics of libran is they are very artistic. This 100% does NOT apply to me as I always fail my art subjects in school.
But, I have a good father who is good in art, so, some of my art or handicraft or whatever pieces that my art teachers asked me to do, were actually his "masterpiece". muahahahaha
Although I'm not an artistic person, that doesn't mean that I don't like art, I love art as well, sometimes when seeing those fine art and I'll get inspired and start trying, but... most of the time, no no, all of the time, result turned out to be like shit. So, just forget about it, I must admit, I'm not artistic AT ALL!!!!

Why am I writing so much about art? Let's look at the pictures below, look closely...

Delicious desserts!
There are butter cake, chocolate cake, fruit cake, mousse cake...

oh, more desserts
there are donuts, biscuit, bun, biscotti...

OMG... cup cakes, sausage bread, cinnamon bun...
eh? How come the fork so big?

The chef is making pie...

They are all miniatures! Sweet sweet Lingzie is posing with this special one
This special one is imported from ____ (one of a European country, later go to ask Joanne and fill in the blank)
Joanne bought this when she was traveling to Europe
All of the above miniatures desserts display are decorated in Joanne's brother bakery shop - Bread Basket Bakery
While enjoying the food and cakes there, you can walk around and see their deco too!

Although I can't produce good art piece, but I can capture them using my camera! Hehehe

Tian Hou Temple

Tian Hou temple is one of the oldest temple in KL, it is also one of a famous tourist spots.
Some Chinese couple will also choose to register their marriage there.
That day, 1st of August in lunar calendar (some Buddhist will go there and pray during the 1st and 15th of the month and the temple will also prepare some vegetarian food for prayer as well), don't know why, but feel like going to pray, so, I just dropped by and pray and took some photos.

Kelvin wanted me to take this photo, he said he wants to crop the girl's head and replace with mine wo.

August Photos

One sentence ... what a mess!
I've no idea how to name this post. That's another reason why these photos keep in my folder for so long and never share them out.
Actually I've already shared some August pictures in another post, e.g. The Rib Shop, Sky Bar and KLCC, left the following 10 pictures which I think is a little bit difficult for me to give them a title.
So, just dump in all and in general said that these are some photos that I took in August.

Roasted duck leg in The Apartment (The Curve)

Chicken chop in Friendster, Damansara Perdana

A plant which is planted outside Sentosa Medical Centre, KL. When I looked closer, there were a lot of bees, I think the flower must have a lot of honey.

Cute little gifts for my friends
I like buy things for my friend even when there isn't any occasion.
This little birth date bears are actually handphone accessories and the body can hide in the head. Cool right?

Birthday cake for Xiao Yun
It's Mango Yogurt from Sense (Name of a bakery)

Pretty Xiao Yun with her cake

Monkey carrying her baby sitting on the fence
Actually I live in "jungle", there are a lot of money living in the hill at the back of my apartment, especially during fruity season, they will all come out in the morning and sitting on the tree and enjoying their fruit, just like the picture below.

July Photos

See, how lazy I am... it's already October, but I still haven't uploaded my July photos. Besides than my laziness, I think maybe because I don't have many good (beautiful) photos to show.
Below are some photos that I took at my old house. I'm no longer staying in my old house, but my grandparents are still living there. And you know, when people like my grandparents, 80+ and 70+ years old, have nothing much to do, planting and keeping pet are one of their daily activities, besides then reading every single news in newspaper and cooking for themselves, ah, and most importantly, debating with each other. Yes, debating, my cute "little" grandparents, yes they are like little kids, they can debate in any tiny things, e.g. where should they put their spectacles. My grandfather has better memory, but my grandmother is very forgetful, she doesn't even remember whether I'm still studying or working.

My grandpa's tortoise

Beautiful jasmine

The flower buds looks like Chinese peach right?
I am not sure what is it called, in Chinese, it is called 七星针 (seven star thorn)
because the plant has 7 thorn at every node and they are arranged in star form.

Cactus
I think, in 10 or more years back, when I bring it home, it was only 1 pellet, now you see, almost uncountable...

Buddha head
I am not sure what's this called also, but it's a type of tropical fruit, it is also one of my favorite.
